Holographic pink nails with daisy accent

This is a fairly easy manicure to do using Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paint and GG Couture Holographic Topcoat.

The process for this is really simple however the nail polish I used is a bit old and quite gloopy and has a habit of drying really streaky.

What you need:

1 good quality basecoat, preferably Rimmel London or Sally Hansen.

1 bottle GG Couture Holographic nail polish

1 bottle Barry M Nail Paint in any pink shade.

1 Barry M NailArt Pen in White

1 Barry M Nail Art Pen in Pink

1 good quality topcoat, preferably Sally Hansen or Barry M

Application

1. Base coat all nails and allow to dry.

2. Paint each nail using the pink Barry M Nail Paint. This nail polish tends to become streaky and tacky very quickly so don't overload the brush and use two to three coats on each nail. Allow to totally dry.

3. Using GG Couture Holographic topcoat, paint one layer on every nail minus your ring fingernail and thumbnail.

4. Using the Barry M NailArt pens carefully dot small flowers on each ring fingernail and thumbnail as shown in the picture. Allow to dry.

5. Topcoat using a clear topcoat.

This is a very simple but time consuming manicure and requires a very steady hand. Don't worry if you mess up, I had to redo these nails about three times!

Have fun with these!

Nail Polish Swatch and Review ----}}}} Barry M Texture Nail Effects in Atlantic Road

Barry M Texture Effects in Atlantic Road.

This is a nail polish that I absolutely adore! I've had it for a while but I've only recently got a camera that is good enough to pick up the amazing texture effects.

This polish dries to a really cool concrete-like texture but still has a bit of the shine that Barry M nail polishes are famous for.

Application

I found the application to be surprisingly easy compared with other textured nail polishes I have used in the past especially the OPI range which I found very clumpy and difficult to get an even coat. This one, on the other hand, is very easy to apply, you just need to make sure you don't overload the brush and disperse each coat evenly across the nail.

The polish is relatively glossy when first applied but as it dries it becomes more matte and grainy which s exactly the effect we're looking for.

Colour

This polish comes in a stunning range of pastel colours with a similar one released early this year in a beautiful range of metallic colours. The colours are soft but still eye-catching and vibrant without being overbearing. They also complement every skin tone.

Wear-Time

This polish had a surprisingly long wear time of about 5 days with very little chipping. This is brilliant and no topcoat is really needed. Because of the nature of this effect, however, it does pick up dirt very quickly so I did have to wipe each finger with a baby-wipe every day.

Removal

This is a more difficult polish to remove mainly because of the texture, it binds to the nail a lot more than any nail polish I have come across. Removal-wise I would say it is most like a small-particle glitter nail polish. I highly recommend using Cutex nail polish remover to remove this one as it is very tough on polish but gently on the nails plus it has a wonderful vanilla scent and you don't need much of it.

Overall

This is a brilliant nail polish perfect for giving you a wonderful nail effect with very little effort. It gives a professional finish every time and lasts well on the nails. It is also great value for money and is a perfect shade of blue. It also comes in a large variety of pastel and metallic colours. Highly recommend.

Graffiti inspired Nailart

This is an old manicure that I did ages ago but I noticed it wasn't up here and it's such an easy and fun manicure to do. I'm currently living in East London so this was inspired by some of the amazing street art that's all around me.

What you need:

1 high quality basecoat, I use Rimmel London Nail Nurse which is about £3.99 from Boots or Superdrug.

1 bottle Barry M Textured Nail Effects in Atlantic Road.

1 Barry M NailArt pen in Pink.

Steps:

1. Basecoat each nail.

2. Paint each nail using Atlantic Road. This can be a little tricky because of the grainy texture so be careful not to overload the brush. At first this will look really shiny and not very grainy. Don't worry, the texture does get a lot more obvious as the polish dries.

3. Allow each nail plenty of time to dry.

4. When completely dry, use the NailArt pen to draw geometric designs over each nail, using a different pattern on each nail. The liquid in this is very runny and has a tendency to all run out at once. I advise keeping a bit of tissue paper or kitchen roll next to you to wipe the pen on if it gets a bit overloaded.

The aim of this manicure is to create a design that has the same effect as graffiti on a wall so you don't need a topcoat. The really cool thing is the contrast between the high gloss finish of the pink NailArt pen and the matte, concrete like texture of Atlantic Road.

This should wear quite well and shouldn't chip too easily however it is slightly more difficult to remove so I recommend Cutex nail polish remover as it is tough on polish but really gentle on nails, plus it has a gorgeous vanilla scent.

Black Cherry Sparkles

Here's another super easy manicure for you guys.

This one is using Rimmel London Lasting Finish nail polish in Black Cherry. This nail polish has a tendancy to get gloopy very fast so you need to work quickly.

Step 1:  Basecoat nail using Rimmel London Nail Nurse.

Step 2:  Add three coats of Black cherry and allow to completely dry.

Step 3:  When completely dry use a Q-tip/ cotton bud to gently dab Barry M Texture in Gold Majesty on the bottom half of each nail focusing most of the polish to the bottom of the nail and gently dispersing it upward. Allow to completely dry.

Step 4:  Topcoat on each nail. I use Sally Hansen Hard As Nails as a topcoat but feel free to use your own.

This is really simple and really eyecatching and effective.
