Pink colour block nail art

This was surprisingly easy, just rather time consuming because of the various steps.

What I used:
> Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Basecoat (also used as topcoat)
> Barry M Matte Nail Paint in MNP9 Rhossili
> Barry M Silk Nail Effects in SKNP1 Blossom
> Barry M Textured Nail Effects in TNP7 Nude Duchess
> Micropore tape or striping tape

How I did it:

  1. First I painted a basecoat using Sally Hansen Hard As Nails. For this you only need to apply one coat.
  2. When this is touch dry, I then applied Rhossili (the pink one). This one tends to dry fairly streaky so you might need thin coats and gradually build up the colour. Remember this is a matte colour and should dry without any shine.
  3. Let the entire paint completely dry.
  4. On each nail place a strip of micro pore tape cross the bottom half of the nail. Press fairly firmly on the surface of each nail ensuring no bubbles.
  5. Use Blossom (the pearly pink one) to paint the exposed nails on each finger. This is quite a runny paint and needs to be again applied in very thin coats and gradually building up the colour, take care not to overload the brush.
  6. Leave this to completely dry.
  7. Carefully place a piece of micropore across the top half of the nail, leaving a small band of space between it and the piece of tape on the bottom half, preferably right in the middle of each nail.
  8. Use Nude Duchess (the silvery one) to paint a small thick line across the middle of each nail, in between bands of tape.
  9. Carefully remove each tape, taking care not to remove any polish from then nail surface.
  10. Carefully apply topcoat.
  11. Leave to completely dry.

I know this is really long and might seem a bit daunting. So I will be doing a video soon to demonstrate, so keep your eyes peeled.

All Nail Polishes in this tutorial are going to be listed in a new page entitled Directory soon.

For now though.

Happy Scribbling! XOXO
